After a year of planning and two years of construction the Bio-Tech Development Centre in Shijiazhuang, China has been opened in September 2022. 
It is the first project in a Bio-Tech Induatral Park and will accomodate the park administration, meeting rooms and a huge exhibition area in the centre of the building.

On 22.09.2021 Thomas Fritzsche took part in the 'Energy-Congress 2021', organised by the Federal Chamber of Architects in Germany
and the KfW-Bank, Germany's state-owned investment and development bank.

The main topics were, how to reuse existing structures and buildings, how to rate the value of materials in old structures and how to design and construct in a way that materials could be reused again in the future.
All these topics will determine the way architects will work in the future.

All speakers agreed, that traveling for businesses will continue, but will be more selective than before. Still a meeting face-to-face is seen as essential for building relations, networking and working on complex problems, but routine meetings will be organized online.

During the 'Nanjing Exclusive Dialog with European Entrprises'

From 06.-09.07.2021 Thomas Fritzsche took part in the 'Weifang International Advisory Workshop' for the urban design of the Ledaoyuan historical and cultural area in Weifang. The workshop was organised by the Weifang government in cooperation with the South-East University Nanjing

Architecture practice Gonzalez Haase AAS and graphic design studio Bureau Borsche have culminated years of collaboration with their newest project, in fact a three-pronged result. First: the design of Bureau Borsche’s Munich office by Gonzalez Haase. Second: the design of Gonzalez Haase’s new website, courtesy of Bureau Borsche. The third is a product inspired by the creative partnership itself: a flexible furniture system from Stefan Diez and manufacturer Wagner Living, based on Gonzalez Haase’s workspace interior for Bureau Borsche.

The panelists focused on aspects as identity, water-availability, energy-saving and workplace-design, but the main question, how we wanted to live in future cities was not asked.
Which social concept would we follow, what kind of communities would we have and how would this be transferred into built or even virtual environments.
Would we need new city concepts or would the old European city concept again be able to serve future developments as it did so many times before?

On 27.05.2021 the German Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai invited Hao Fei (BANMA), David Powels (SIAC), Dr. Shen Feng (NIO) to a discussion, hosted by Zhao Jiawei (PORSCHE CONSULTING), to share their insights about the differences between traditional car makers and new car makers.

It was intersting to learn, that one big difference is the average age of their customers of 57 respectively 32.

While the older customers care for reliability in general, the younger care for the connectivity and experience most - at least for now

The JXEDZ is one of the most successful business parks in China and it keeps on attracting more and more international companies.

To be even more successful, its 2. phase is planned as a fully sustainable and healthy development and a role-model for the future
